Tissues that can be donated:
- Heart for Valves – The heart that cannot be transplanted as a whole organ can be donated for the three valves, which can then be transplanted. (Mitral, bicuspid, and tricuspid)
- Eyes / Corneas
- Skin Grafts
- Pericardium – Protective sac surrounding the heart. – Can be used as skin graft or tendon
- Bones – including ribs, femurs (leg bone), tibias (leg bone), fibulas (leg bone), ilium (Hip), and humerus (upper arm bone) – processed into several different viable grafts for multiple bone surgeries including spinal fusions and bone regeneration.
- Fascia – Protective layer between skin and muscle. – Can be used like the pericardium as a skin graft or tendon.
- Tendons – such as the Achilles' tendon – used for tendon repair.
- Saphenous Veins – longest vein of the leg – used as vascular replacement in heart surgeries and vein repair.
